Seventeen strangers arrive at O.U.R. Ecovillage in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island for a four-month program with one concrete goal: build a 550-square-foot house using natural architecture and permaculture methods. The film follows their daily work, from laying foundations to raising walls with materials like cob and timber, alongside instruction in sustainable food production and group leadership. Participants come from different backgrounds and different reasons for signing up, and the camera catches the friction that comes from putting that many personalities into one small, physically demanding project, as well as the moments when the group actually pulls together to solve a construction problem or settle a disagreement.
