Anna Kournikova’s career may not have been filled with championship titles, but her impact on the world of tennis and popular culture cannot be denied. Born in Russia in 1981, Kournikova quickly became a tennis prodigy, winning her first tournament at the age of just eight.

As she grew older, Kournikova’s striking beauty and fierce athleticism drew attention from fans and the media alike. Though she never won a WTA singles title, her talent on the doubles court with partner Martina Hingis led to multiple Grand Slam victories and the two becoming known as the “Spice Girls of Tennis.”

Off the court, Kournikova’s celebrity status only grew. She was a regular in fashion magazines and even appeared in music videos. Her name became one of the most common search strings on Google, solidifying her status as a household name.

However, Kournikova’s career was cut short at the age of just 21 due to serious back and spinal problems. She attempted a brief comeback in 2010, but ultimately retired for good.

Despite the early end to her tennis career, Kournikova continued to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. She served as a trainer on “The Biggest Loser” and became a Global Ambassador for Population Services International’s Five & Alive program, working to address health crises facing children under the age of five.

“Anna Kournikova – Beyond The Glory” takes a deep dive into the life of this tennis icon, exploring the highs and lows of her career and the impact she had on the sport and pop culture. From her early days as a tennis prodigy to her current work as an advocate for children’s health, this documentary showcases the many facets of Anna Kournikova.
