Doctors, scientists, and researchers who claim to have developed alternative cancer treatments make up the film's roster of subjects, most of them dismissed by mainstream medicine as quacks and some driven out of their home countries entirely. The film lays out their individual case histories, including claims of thousands of patients healed outside conventional oncology, and asks why none of these approaches were ever taken up or seriously tested by official medicine. It sets that question against a blunt statistic: more than 20,000 people die of cancer every day worldwide, a toll it uses to argue that the existing system has little room to reject unproven options out of hand. The tone is adversarial throughout, treating the medical establishment as an interested party rather than a neutral judge, and treating the banished researchers as martyrs rather than as figures whose claims might warrant scrutiny. It is a one-sided brief for alternative cancer treatment, built entirely around testimony rather than clinical data.
