Speeding, alcohol, fatigue, and worn tires kill in scene after scene of this 1961 driver's education film, produced by the Highway Safety Foundation and Safety Enterprises Inc. with crash footage supplied by the Ohio Highway Patrol. A driver loses control past 100 mph; a family's fog-and-speed accident ends a road trip; a sober woman is killed by a drunk driver with a revoked license; a woman survives a minor collision only to die because she skipped her seatbelt. Ohio Highway Patrol officers appear using helicopters to clock speeders, and the film follows a drunk-driving arrest through to sentencing in court. A worn tire on a gravel truck kills five in one crash; a tow hitch failure kills a boy during a family move. The film repeats its "10 out of 2" rule, a ten-minute break every two hours, and closes with the patrol's own verdict: "You cause it. We try to prevent it."
