A village in Romania empties out until one person remains: an elderly woman who refuses to leave her house behind, even after her neighbors have gone. Director Beny Cosma and assistant Daniel Fratila travel there in the summer of 2012 expecting a scenic, abandoned place and instead find her still living among the animals in the ruins, isolated to the point that the film describes her judgment as eroded by solitude. The camera moves through empty streets and decaying houses before settling on her home, using long silences and plain observational shots rather than narration to make the isolation register. There are no interviews with experts here, no historical framing of why the village emptied, just one woman's daily existence documented as evidence of what prolonged loneliness does to a person. The film is short and blunt about its point: this is what happens when nobody is left to check on someone.
