Since 1990, the Lord's Resistance Army has abducted tens of thousands of children from villages in Northern Uganda, marching them across the border into Sudan for training as soldiers. The film follows the mechanics of that abduction and indoctrination under Acholi rebel leader Joseph Kony, who frames the campaign in religious terms while forcing captured children to commit violence against their own families and communities as a way of severing any path back home. Interviews and firsthand accounts describe the routine of forced marches, weapons training, and the psychological conditioning used to turn kidnapped children into fighters loyal to Kony's chain of command.
