The documentary, ‘Surprising Europe – Taking Action,’ sheds light on the challenges faced by African immigrants in Europe. Through various interviews and reports, the film highlights the efforts of migrants who are striving to assert their rights and improve their living conditions.

Hip-hop artist K-Nel brings to the forefront the struggles of African immigrants who are often mistreated in Europe. One such instance is that of Sissoko Azoumane from Mali, who is the spokesman for a protest movement in Paris. This movement aims to secure papers for undocumented migrants who have been residing in France for years and contributing to its economy. Unfortunately, a recent law has shattered their hopes of obtaining papers.

Sorious Samura investigates the lengths some migrants go to in order to secure employment, including cloning identities. On the other hand, Wahabou from Senegal, who survived a deadly fire that claimed the lives of 20 people in a building housing migrants, decides to take action against fire hazards in Parisian buildings.

In Brescia, Italy, Africans come together to tackle housing problems faced by the eviction of migrants due to anti-immigration sentiments. The film is a thought-provoking insight into the struggles faced by African immigrants and the various ways in which they are fighting for a better life.
