Michael Raduga, founder of the out-of-body-experience research group behind the app formerly called Phaser, builds his case around a single observed pattern: in the large majority of supernatural accounts he examines, from biblical miracles to modern UFO encounters, the witness is falling asleep or waking up at the moment it happens. Raduga calls this transitional state "the Phase" and argues it is a suppressed or overlooked layer of consciousness that has shaped religion, folklore, and paranormal reports throughout history. Neuroscientists and parapsychologists appear on camera offering competing explanations, ranging from ordinary sleep physiology to claims about access to other dimensions, and actress Valeria Lukyanova appears as one of the film's featured voices. The film sits somewhere between a research pitch and a conspiracy argument, suggesting that institutions have had reasons to keep this phenomenon obscure rather than studied openly. It ends without resolving what the Phase actually is, leaving the neuroscience-versus-mysticism argument open and pointing viewers toward Raduga's own techniques for inducing the state themselves.
