
The Science Behind the Bike
A cyclist moving at speed is fighting a handful of physical forces at once, and this episode of the Open University's four-part series breaks down what those forces actually are and how riders and engineers work against them. Air resistance takes the largest share of the discussion, since it grows with the square of speed and explains why aerodynamic position and equipment matter more than raw power past a certain pace.
