Diet claims flood daily life, from fertility fixes to anti-aging foods, and this BBC series puts a handful of them through actual trials rather than headlines. Six episodes split the territory among different presenters: news anchor Fiona Bruce examines what everyday eating does to long-term health, comedian Vic Reeves and his wife Nancy test whether specific foods can improve fertility and sex life, DJ Andrea Oliver runs a head-to-head comparison of popular dieting strategies, and Liza Tarbuck looks at what diet does to skin and aging. Each presenter effectively becomes a test subject, following a food regime and reporting back what changed, while nutrition scientists interpret the results and explain the research behind each claim. The format keeps things concrete: specific meal plans, before-and-after measurements, and expert commentary on what the data actually supports versus what is marketing. It is less interested in prescribing a single correct diet than in showing, case by case, which popular food beliefs hold up under a real trial and which do not.
