Then and Now: Ishinomaki

In November 2011, a team ventured to the city of Ishinomaki, Japan to gain a deeper understanding of the progress and recovery efforts in the aftermath of a devastating natural disaster. Through interviews with local survivors, a narrative of resilience and perseverance emerged, painting a picture of a community determined to rebuild and reclaim their sense of normalcy.

As the team listened to the experiences of the Ishinomaki residents, they were struck by the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
