Trapped in Transition

Syrian families displaced by the civil war live in a holding pattern near the Lebanese-Syrian border, neither able to go home nor settled anywhere else. The film gathers their accounts directly, sitting with parents and children in makeshift shelters as they describe daily shortages of food, medicine, and secure housing, along with the constant background threat of violence that pushed them out of Syria in the first place. Interviews carry the film rather than narration, letting each family describe how they ended up stuck in this border zone and what keeping a household running looks like without steady income or a fixed home. The camera stays close to domestic routines, cooking, childcare, waiting, rather than reaching for wider political context, which keeps the focus on what displacement actually costs day to day. It is a small-scale, ground-level record of one refugee population's unresolved limbo, not a survey of the broader Syrian crisis.
