A Hologram of Super Yang-Mills at Weak Coupling
Atul Sharma, a physicist at Harvard University, presents this High Energy Theory Seminar at the Institute for Advanced Study on constructing a holographic dual to N = 4 super Yang-Mills theory in the regime of weak 't Hooft coupling. He builds the bulk description using twistor string theory, working through how the usual strong-coupling holographic dictionary can be extended to a weak-coupling setting where the gauge theory is tractable by other means. The talk connects this construction to concrete observables: scattering amplitudes, giant graviton correlators, and related quantities that test the proposed duality. Aimed at researchers already fluent in gauge-gravity duality and twistor methods, the seminar moves through the formal machinery at a fast clip, with board work and slides typical of an IAS research talk rather than an introductory course. It runs 79 minutes and is a record of ongoing research rather than a survey.
