Friederike Schmitz runs workshops where school children stand inside a marked-off square the size of a fattening pig's actual living space, watching the realization land on their faces. The film follows three people working different angles of the meat question: Schmitz teaching kids how farm animals actually live, Friedrich Mülln of SOKO Tierschutz documenting agricultural scandals he has investigated since he was thirteen, and Tobias Leenaert, founder of ProVeg International, who lives on a Belgian farm with rescued pigs, ducks, chickens, and a turkey that likes staring at its reflection in a mirror. Leenaert argues the vegan movement will not win through argument alone, that people who cut back their meat consumption without going fully vegan carry more collective weight than committed hardliners, and that a good-tasting alternative often has to come before anyone accepts the ethical case. Mülln adds a harder edge, naming consumers rather than slaughterhouses as his real opponents. The film sits with the gap between what people feel about animals and what they actually change.
