Alex Skeel was 23 when he nearly died at the hands of his girlfriend, Jordan Worth, who spent two years isolating him from friends and family, controlling his food and movements, and eventually starving and burning him so badly he needed hospital treatment. This documentary follows Alex as he rebuilds his life after Worth became one of the first people in Britain convicted under coercive control legislation, and speaks with him directly about how the abuse escalated so gradually that he barely noticed his own isolation. The film uses his case to open up a wider conversation about domestic violence against men, a subject rarely covered with this much detail, interviewing support workers and other survivors who describe the shame and disbelief male victims face when they try to report abuse.
