British Muslims from a range of backgrounds sit down on camera to talk through what the War on Terror did to their communities and to how Britain sees them. The film, produced by Rice N Peas Films, is built almost entirely from these interviews rather than narration, letting people with conflicting views on religion, integration and government policy make their own case. Its argument is pointed: that British broadcasters, in the years after 9/11, never seriously investigated the roots of what gets called Islamic extremism, and instead recycled the same stereotypes pushed by the New Labour government to justify its policies. The film pushes back on that record directly, asking interviewees to weigh how large the actual threat is against how it has been portrayed, and how much of the public narrative around Muslim communities has been shaped for political convenience rather than accuracy. There is no reenactment or expert voiceover here, just people describing what they lived through and what they think the country got wrong.
