Extreme Midget Wrestling Federation puts on a show at the Colonial Theatre in Sacramento, California, and a small crew tries to document what happens around it: wrestlers preparing, the crowd reacting, the performers talking about the work itself. Permission to film backstage is granted, then pulled at the last minute, so the crew shoots covertly instead, with the venue's booking staff aware even as the promotion itself is not. The result is a short, rough record of one night rather than a polished profile, built from whatever footage they managed to grab under those conditions. The film also carries a disclaimer from its own makers: the EMWF uses the word "midget" in its name and branding, but the filmmakers do not endorse the term, noting that it is widely considered a slur and that "little people" is the accepted alternative. That tension, between the subjects' chosen language and the crew's discomfort with it, sits over the whole film as much as the wrestling does.
