Warren Buffett walks through the Omaha house he bought in 1958 and still lives in, the same modest brick colonial that sits at the center of this HBO portrait of the world's most famous investor. Interviews with his children, with Bill Gates, and with longtime partner Charlie Munger trace how a boy obsessed with numbers and pinball machines built Berkshire Hathaway into a conglomerate worth hundreds of billions, and what that climb cost his first wife Susan, who left their marriage before his fortune peaked. The film follows his daily routine, a McDonald's breakfast chosen by the stock's performance, weekly bridge games, decades of the same office in the same building, and sets that frugality against the scale of his wealth. Archival footage and family photographs cover the early partnerships and the Coca-Cola and Gillette bets that made his reputation, while present-day scenes show him signing away most of his fortune through the Giving Pledge. The contrast between the ordinary habits and the extraordinary numbers is the film's real subject.
