Cameras follow Maria Eduarda, a sales clerk newly arrested on kidnapping charges, into a system where court backlogs routinely stretch a legally mandated 30-day hearing into months. The prison's wing for pregnant women and mothers with children under two houses five inmates convicted of drug or gang offenses. Officer Bruna, 30, describes the gang threats she faces just for doing her job.
