West African troops from the Gold Coast, now Ghana, fought through the Burma jungle against Japanese forces as part of Britain's so-called Forgotten Army, and this History Hit film follows a son retracing his father's service as a medical officer with those divisions. The journey moves through archival photographs, wartime records, and the surviving landscape to reconstruct what these soldiers faced: malaria, monsoon terrain, and combat against an enemy dug into some of the harshest ground of the war.
