Childhood 2.0

89 MIN · EN · STATUS: [ STREAMING ]

Childhood 2.0 looks at what happens when growing up moves online. The film opens with a contrast: extended families and tight-knit communities that once raised children together, set against a generation now raising itself partly through smartphones and social feeds. Teenagers, parents, psychologists, and researchers describe what daily life looks like when a child's social world lives inside an app, from the pressure to perform online to the isolation that can follow when that performance fails. The film treats cyberbullying, screen addiction, and shifting family structures as connected pieces of the same shift rather than separate problems, and lets the people living through it, kids included, describe the effects in their own words. Rather than delivering a simple verdict on technology, it traces how quickly the rules of childhood changed and asks what got lost, and what might still be salvaged, in the process.
