Vietnamese children trafficked into Britain end up tending cannabis farms in suburban houses, and when police raid those houses it is the children, not the traffickers, who are arrested. This People & Power investigation follows cases through the UK asylum and criminal justice systems, showing how minors smuggled across borders by organized gangs are charged with drug production instead of recognized as trafficking victims. Interviews with lawyers, campaigners, and former detainees lay out how a child can be moved from a Vietnamese village to a locked grow-house in England, discovered by police, and then treated as the offender in the case rather than the person who was exploited. The film traces the legal gap between UK trafficking protections and the way immigration and drug enforcement actually process these children, with some ending up in young offenders' institutions or facing deportation. It is a plain, reported account of a system that keeps punishing the people it is supposed to protect.
