New York City, September 11, 2004: a town hall meeting convened to argue that the official account of the attacks does not hold up, and this film is the record of it. Actor and activist Ed Begley Jr. hosts a lineup of authors, researchers, and former officials, including theologian David Ray Griffin, media critic Barry Zwicker, journalist Kristina Borjesson, Air Force colonel Robert Bowman, and researcher Paul Thompson, each taking the microphone to lay out specific objections to the 9/11 Commission's findings, from the timeline of NORAD's response to unanswered questions about the collapse of the towers. The film cuts between speeches and audience reaction inside the hall, presenting the event as evidence that skepticism about 9/11 extended well beyond fringe circles by 2004. Distributed by Reopen911.org, the DVD reportedly reached 200,000 copies in circulation, part of a deliberate campaign to pressure lawmakers into a new investigation. The film makes no independent inquiry of its own; it is the case as its participants wanted it presented, unfiltered by outside rebuttal.
