James Miller spends weeks in Gaza filming Palestinian children growing up inside the Second Intifada, following two boys through funerals, gunfire, and the rubble of demolished homes near Rafah. The camera stays close to daily routines rather than staged commentary: kids playing near tank patrols, families burying neighbors, teenagers describing what they expect their own futures to hold. Miller, an experienced war cameraman, is shot and killed by Israeli army gunfire while filming a nighttime scene toward the end of the shoot, and the finished film is assembled from the footage he left behind. That death becomes part of the documentary's own story, not an afterword: an investigation follows into the circumstances of the shooting and the conflicting military accounts of what happened that night. The film does not attempt a balanced accounting of the wider conflict; it stays fixed on what one camera crew saw on the ground in Gaza, and on the fact that recording it cost the director his life.
