Earth Story

EN · STATUS: [ STREAMING ]

Geologist Aubrey Manning presents this BBC series on how the Earth itself has a history, one written in rock, ice, and fire rather than in books. The series traveled worldwide during three years of filming, taking cameras to volcanic fields, ancient mountain ranges, and deep ocean vents to trace the forces that built and reshaped the planet long before humans arrived. Manning walks through landscapes that read like pages of a story once you know how to look at them: folded strata recording collisions between continents, layers of ash marking eruptions that changed the climate, fossils pinned to the exact moment life took a new turn. The series moves through plate tectonics, the origins of the atmosphere and oceans, ice ages, and mass extinctions, using each as evidence for how the Earth's surface and its life have shaped each other over billions of years. Manning's on-location presenting style keeps the science grounded in visible, physical evidence rather than abstraction.
