Kate Winslet narrates a global tour of industrial food production and its ecological toll, moving from cattle ranches carved into the Amazon rainforest to dead zones spreading across the ocean floor. The film follows scientists, farmers, and indigenous leaders who describe what happens when land is cleared for soy and grazing, much of it destined for livestock feed rather than direct human consumption. Aerial footage shows the scale of deforestation in Brazil's Cerrado, while interviews connect that clearing to falling rainfall, collapsing biodiversity, and rising greenhouse gas emissions. The film also visits fishing communities watching coral reefs bleach and fish stocks vanish under industrial trawling. Rather than treating climate change and food production as separate crises, the film argues they are the same story, tracing a direct line from what ends up on a plate to the health of rainforests and oceans thousands of miles away. It closes by asking what a food system built around ecological limits, rather than around meat and dairy output, might look like.
