The series argues that empires rose and fell on their ability to move water, armies, and stone efficiently, treating aqueducts and roads as instruments of power as much as bridges and battles. The chariot races, sieges, and construction sequences are staged with some dramatic license, but the engineering explanations stay grounded in period sources and surviving ruins.
