Urban explorers Josh and Cody spend four chapters chasing the planet's most striking ruins, teaming up with fellow explorers along the way. Josh and his childhood friend John Yurei walk the cellblocks of Joliet prison in Illinois, where inmates once built their own cells, while Cody tags along with freerunner Abudi Alsagoff through a decaying industrial city in Belgium. The pair then splits again: Josh joins urban-exploring veteran Steve Duncan to comb an abandoned Soviet mining settlement on the arctic island of Spitsbergen, while Cody documents the brutal history of Goli Otok, Croatia's former political prison island. A third stop takes Cody to Namibia hunting stories of German diamond prospectors and smugglers, and Josh to Albania to photograph rusting fighter jets and a hidden weapons factory. The series closes with both explorers reunited in the Fukushima exclusion zone, reflecting on their travels and ranking every location they visited. Handheld camera work and on-site narration carry the tour throughout.
