Ethan

Ethan is thirteen years old, growing up with two passions that don't usually share a bedroom wall: stray dogs and politics. The film follows him doing both, feeding and caring for dogs he finds on the street while also talking through his political opinions with the seriousness of someone twice his age. At sixteen minutes, it stays close to Ethan rather than building out a larger argument, letting his voice and his daily routine carry the film. The contrast between the tenderness he shows the animals and the conviction he brings to political talk is the point, a portrait of a kid whose interests don't fit a single box. There's no narrator standing between the audience and Ethan; the camera just follows him through his own version of a normal day, stray dogs included.
