Christian evangelist Ray Comfort sets out to test evolutionary biology by interviewing professors at some of the country's top universities, including Peter Nonacs and Gail Kennedy at UCLA, Craig Stanford at USC, and PZ Myers at the University of Minnesota Morris. He walks each of them through textbook evidence for evolution: vestigial organs, natural selection, the human fifth digit, the stickleback fish, Darwin's finches, and Richard Lenski's long-running bacteria experiment, pressing them with narrow, repeated questions about origins and observation. Clips of Richard Dawkins and other prominent atheists are cut in between interviews to represent the opposing camp. Comfort frames his line of questioning as exposing gaps in the scientists' answers rather than engaging their full arguments, and the professors' responses grow visibly frustrated as the interviews proceed. The film's real aim surfaces at the end, when Comfort turns from questions about biology to an appeal for the scientists themselves to accept Christian salvation, revealing the project as evangelism built around a science debate rather than an even-handed inquiry into it.
