Fascism Inc
Fascism Inc looks at how a political ideology once associated with the twentieth century's worst atrocities has found new footholds in the twenty-first, tracking its resurgence across Europe, the United States, and beyond. Director John Smith builds the film through interviews with historians and political scientists who trace fascism's origins as a political movement and lay out how its language and tactics reappear in contemporary parties, street movements, and online organizing. The film is a crowdfunded production from the team behind Debtocracy and Catastroika, and it carries the same activist, issue-driven approach those films used on the financial crisis, now turned on the far right. Rather than staying with one country's case, it moves between national contexts to argue that the pattern is international rather than local. The interviews carry the argument throughout, with experts laying out definitions and warning signs rather than the film relying on reenactment or narration alone.
