Germany's construction industry employs fewer women than almost any other sector, and this report follows four who work in it anyway: Julia, Frieda, Sally and Anna, who lay bricks, frame buildings, and operate on job sites still run almost entirely by men. The film follows them through their workdays, showing the physical demands of the trade alongside the social ones, including the sexist comments and doubts about their competence that come from male colleagues. Each woman talks about why she chose the work and what keeps her in it despite the friction, and the camera catches unguarded moments on scaffolding and building sites rather than staged interviews alone. The report also asks foremen and coworkers why the industry has stayed so male, getting answers that range from tradition to plain inertia.
