Human origins get traced back 25 million years, starting from the ape-like Piolatherus, in this account of the traits that eventually made us human. The film follows the branching primate lineage forward through time, picking out the social behaviors, tool use, and physical adaptations that separate our ancestors from other apes and asking which pressures pushed each change forward. Rather than treating evolution as a straight line, it frames the story as a series of experiments, some successful, most not, with only one branch eventually producing modern humans. The emphasis stays on the social side of the story: cooperation, group living, and communication as forces as important as any physical adaptation. It is a compact primer on where we came from, built for viewers who want the outline of human evolutionary history without wading through the full academic literature on hominid fossils and dating methods.
