Food Matters

Andrew Saul, Jerry Tennant, Charlotte Gerson, and a roster of nutrition-focused doctors and researchers make the case that the modern food supply, and the medical system built around treating its consequences, is making people sick rather than well. The film opens with Hippocrates' line about food as medicine and builds outward from there: interviews cover vitamin megadose therapy, the industrial processing that strips nutrients from produce, pharmaceutical side effects, and cases where patients say diet changes reversed conditions doctors had called permanent. Raw food and juicing get extended attention as the practical alternative the film is pushing, with before-and-after patient accounts standing in for clinical trials. Talking-head interviews are cut with text-on-screen statistics and archival clips of processed-food advertising to make the contrast between industry messaging and the film's own claims. It is frankly an advocacy piece for nutritional medicine over pharmaceutical treatment, argued through personal testimony and a small set of favored experts rather than broad scientific consensus, and it says so without much hedging.
