Three of Britain's football firms, hardcore supporter groups built around specific clubs, agree to let cameras follow them through the entire 2013-2014 season, home and away matches included. It is the first time any of these firms have granted that kind of access, and the footage moves between pubs, train stations, and stadium approaches where confrontations with rival firms and police actually happen rather than being staged for the camera. Director Mark Rossiter keeps the focus on the younger generation of hooligans inheriting a subculture that predates them, watching how the ritual of organized fighting fits alongside ordinary match-day routine. There is little narration standing between the viewer and the men themselves, who talk about loyalty, reputation, and violence in their own terms. The film does not moralize or explain hooliganism from the outside; it simply stays close to three groups for a season and lets what happens on the terraces and in the streets around them speak for itself.
