Fifty of Australia's elite freefly skydivers gather on the 26th of December 2011 to attempt an Australian record, and this short film follows the buildup and the jump itself. It shows the logistics of assembling that many bodies in freefall formation at once: the briefings, the aircraft loads, the practice sequences, and the split-second choreography needed to link up safely at speed. Interviews with the skydivers themselves carry the film's sense of what draws people to the sport, alongside footage shot from multiple angles during the actual jump, giving a sense of scale that ground-level shots can't capture. The record attempt is the spine of the story, but the film spends real time on the culture around it, the trust required between jumpers who are moving toward each other at well over a hundred miles an hour, and the preparation that makes a fifty-person formation possible rather than reckless. It's a compact portrait of a niche extreme sport built around one specific event.
