Jim Killeen types his own name into Google one afternoon and finds dozens of other Jim Killeens scattered across the country. Rather than let the search results sit as a curiosity, he sets out to meet as many of them as he can, driving across America to knock on the doors of strangers who happen to share his name. The men he finds range from a death row inmate to a teenager, a retiree to a stand-up comedian, and each visit becomes a small portrait of a life that could have been his own under different circumstances. Killeen uses the road trip structure to ask a broader question about identity in the internet age: how much of who we are is tied up in a name that search engines now make searchable, comparable, and public. The film mixes handheld travel footage with interviews conducted on porches, in living rooms, and at kitchen tables, letting each Jim Killeen tell his own story in his own words.
