Hotel Ground Zero
The Marriott World Trade Center sat wedged between the twin towers, a 22-story hotel that absorbed the collapse of both buildings on September 11, 2001, and vanished along with them. This film tells the story of that structure and the people inside it that morning, guests, staff, and the emergency responders who used the hotel as a staging area before it was crushed. Where most 9/11 documentaries center on the towers themselves, this one follows the building in between, treating it as its own site of loss rather than a footnote to the main disaster. Survivor accounts and period footage reconstruct what happened inside the Marriott as the towers came down around it, filling in a piece of the day that rarely gets separate treatment. The result is a narrower, more specific angle on an already well-documented event, built around a landmark that most retellings mention only in passing before it disappears from the story entirely.
