Bulgaria's black market, according to VICE co-founders Shane Smith and Eddy Moretti, sells almost anything to a buyer with enough cash, including women, drugs, and nuclear warheads. The pair go looking for the last item themselves, meeting a real arms dealer who runs through his catalog of weapons and boasts that a warhead is within reach if the price is right. When Smith and Moretti press him to actually sell them one, he backs off, but the film keeps following the thread through contacts who deal in nuclear material rather than finished weapons. Eventually a seller produces what he claims is a sample of the material used to build a bomb, and the camera lingers on it. There's no CGI reenactment or expert panel here, just Smith and Moretti's own footage of the meetings, shot in the style VICE built its early reputation on: unscripted, a little reckless, and closer to the arms trade than most journalists get. The material itself is the point: how casually it gets shown to strangers.
