In Search Of: The Easter Island Massacre

740

This documentary takes a look at the mystery behind the large stone figures found on Easter Island. Narrated by series host Leonard Nimoy, this video explains how the statues were discovered by Dutch travelers in 1722. Years later, the figures were either completely destroyed or partially mutilated. No one has ever been able to determine how these historical relics were damaged and blame was never placed to explain who or what was responsible for this destruction. The video includes an interview with archaeologist Edmundo Edwards, who has studied these figures and the mystery of their destruction for years. Edwards offers his opinions on how the statues got on the island and why they might have been damaged.
