Fourteen years later, still on death row, he maintains he was not the shooter. Director Jessica Villerius builds the case for doubt through interviews with Young's family, witnesses from the original trial, and Young himself, speaking from prison about the night that ended with two bodies and his conviction. Ballistics experts rerun the shooting as a simulation, testing whether the physical evidence lines up with the testimony that put him away, and the film lays out the DNA results that never matched him alongside the conflicting witness statements that helped convict him. Rather than staging a courtroom drama, it assembles the paperwork and physical evidence piece by piece, following the same irregularities defense lawyers have used to keep appealing his sentence, and leaves the verdict on his guilt open.
