A twelve-year-old girl trains to earn a spot on China's youth Olympic weightlifting team, and the film follows her through the brutal repetition that goal demands: barbells loaded past what seems reasonable for her frame, coaches barking corrections, her hands taped and calloused from daily lifts. The camera stays close on the gym floor, watching drills, weigh-ins, and the small rituals of a state sports school built to produce champions from childhood. There is little narration; the training itself, and the girl's own determination and exhaustion, carry the story. Interviews with coaches and glimpses of her home life fill in what the sport costs a family that has staked a child's future on it. In eleven minutes the film raises the question of what is asked of children inside a system engineered for medals, without editorializing about the answer.
