Jimi Hendrix dies on September 18, 1970, in a small hotel in London's Notting Hill, and the coroner's inquest closes the case fast, filing it as another rock star drug death. This film goes back over what actually happened that night, questioning the official account and laying out evidence that points toward a cover-up rather than an accident. Jeff Beck, Pete Townshend, and Eric Clapton speak on camera about Hendrix and the circumstances surrounding his death, and the film uses previously undisclosed material to ask who benefited from his death being closed quietly. Narrator Duncan Wells guides the account, built by director Mike Parkinson and producer Ray Santilli, through the last hours of Hendrix's life, from the hotel room itself to the medical and police response that followed. The film does not claim to solve the case outright; it lays out what it considers new evidence and leaves the viewer to weigh whether the official story holds up.
