A screenwriter living with Lou Gehrig's disease, also known as ALS, is the subject of this short film from director Chetin Chabuk. As his body loses the ability to move and speak, he keeps working, relying on adaptive communication methods to keep writing and to stay in contact with the people around him. The film follows him through that daily process, showing the mechanics of how someone who cannot use a keyboard or his own voice in the conventional way still produces pages and holds conversations. Rather than framing the disease purely as tragedy, the film centers on the workaround itself, the patience and technology required to turn thought into text one letter or word at a time. It is a small, close-focus portrait of persistence, built around a single man's determination to keep his voice, in the most literal sense, functioning.
