American democracy's gap between promise and practice is the target of this independent film by Noble, who builds his argument entirely from existing footage, news clips, and archival speeches rather than original interviews. The film traces the Democratic Party's history of absorbing and defusing social movements, from labor organizing to civil rights, using it as evidence that electoral politics alone cannot produce structural change. It follows corporate money through campaign finance and lobbying to show how policy outcomes track donor interests more than voter preference, and it pairs that with data on wealth concentration in the United States, contrasting stock portfolios and executive pay with wage stagnation. A section on foreign policy argues that drone strikes, surveillance programs, and interventions expanded under Obama rather than receded, framing this as continuity with the previous administration's approach. Some of the war footage included is graphic. The film's closing argument is that voting is necessary but not sufficient, and that lasting change requires organized pressure outside the ballot box.
