Louis Theroux spends time with Jewish settlers in the West Bank who believe it is a religious duty to occupy land they consider biblically promised, including areas contested by Palestinians and international law. He eats with them, prays alongside them, and lets them explain their reasoning directly to camera, finding many of them funny and hospitable rather than the caricature their politics might suggest. That warmth is the film's method: Theroux gets close enough to hear the logic from the inside before showing where it leads, from armed patrols to conflicts with Palestinian neighbors and Israeli authorities alike. The film does not editorialize so much as let contradictions surface on their own, between generosity at the dinner table and the displacement their movement causes just outside it. Theroux's presence as an outsider, curious and mostly unchallenging, is what draws out how ordinary the extremity feels to the people living it.
