John McAfee built his fortune writing the antivirus software that carries his name, then spent it building a life in Belize surrounded by armed guards and young women. Reporter David O'Shea travels there to interview him directly, along with the family of Gregory Faull, McAfee's neighbor, who was found shot dead in his home. McAfee had feuded with Faull over his dogs and his guns before the killing, and afterward he fled across the border into Guatemala, telling O'Shea he believed Belizean police intended to frame him rather than investigate him. The film sits with McAfee long enough to let his contradictions show: precise and lucid when explaining his software empire, evasive and theatrical when asked about the shooting. O'Shea also talks to the women who live in McAfee's compound, trying to work out whether they are companions, employees, or something harder to name. No one is charged on camera and no verdict arrives; the film ends with the case as open as McAfee's own account of it.
