Former Special Forces soldier Jason Fox spent years hunting drug traffickers. Here he goes back to meet the people he once tried to take down, traveling through Mexico, Colombia, and Peru to sit across from cartel enforcers, assassins, and kingpins. The three-part series splits cleanly by country: Mexico's cartel infrastructure and its foot soldiers, Colombia's trafficking networks decades after Escobar, and Peru's coca-growing regions where the drug trade starts. Fox uses his own background as an entry point, openly more skeptical now about the war on drugs he used to fight, and pushes his subjects on their motives, their fear of violence, and what pulled them into the trade in the first place.
