Copenhagen's B&W shipyard on Refshaleøen was once Denmark's largest workplace, employing more than 10,000 men at its peak before repeated bankruptcies shut it down for good in 1996, nearly a century and a half after it was founded in 1843. This film gathers five former workers who talk through what the yard was actually like: the drinking, the fights, the rough camaraderie of an all-male trade built on heavy labor. Their stories are less a timeline than a set of tall tales, told with the exaggeration of men who lived it. The camera lingers on their hands, worn and scarred from decades at the plates and welding torches, cut against an instrumental version of Redwood Hill's album 'Descender' rather than narration or archival explanation. The same waterfront now hosts Copenhell, the heavy metal festival that fills the old shipyard grounds every June, a detail the film uses to bridge the industrial past with what the site has become. No historian frames the story; the workers do it themselves.
