Adolf Eichmann organized the trains, the ghettos, and the camps that carried out the Final Solution, and grew rich along the way selling off the possessions stolen from his victims. This History Hit film tracks the fifteen years he spent hiding under a false name in Argentina and the Mossad operation that finally caught up with him. In April 1960 a small team of Israeli agents lands in Buenos Aires, surveils Eichmann's house, and snatches him off the street before smuggling him out of the country to stand trial in Israel. The film walks through the surveillance work, the false papers, and the risks of running a kidnapping operation on foreign soil under Argentina's nose. It closes with the 1961 Jerusalem trial, where three judges hear the case against him and sentence him to death. Archival photographs, courtroom footage, and historian interviews carry the narrative, tracing the machinery of the Holocaust through the one man who administered so much of it.
